Flexible Polymer Tubing (FKM)

FLEXIBLE FKM TUBING

Our flexible FKM tubing is made of a high performance synthetic rubber that has excellent temperature resistance from -40°F to 400°F continuously and at 600°F periodically. SPS's FKM tubing offers one of the widest ranges of fluid and chemical resistance of any commercial rubber and boasts the utmost resistance to oils, fuels, lubricants, and most mineral acids. It is also resistant to many aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons such as carbon tetrachloride, benzene, toluene, and xylene and has excellent resistance to environmental exposure such as sunlight and ozone. FKM tubing is available in 60 and 75 Shore A durometers.

The main attribute of SPS's FKM tubing include exceptional chemical resistance at elevated temperatures. Our FKM has withstood service temperatures of 600°F for 48 hours and 500°F for 1000 hours while maintaining its mechanical properties. However, care should be taken at these elevated temperatures and tests should be performed to determine suitability.

FKM Tubing from SPS possesses the high resiliency of an elastomer as well as the good mechanical properties of conventional synthetic rubbers. The heat and chemical resistance factors, as mentioned earlier, usually go far beyond the range of other rubbers. Our 60A durometer compound is specially formulated for use in peristaltic pumps. All RF-FKM formulations are produced with 100% DuPont Dow Viton fluoroelastomers, come in a matte black finish and contain no reground material or blends of other elastomers.

Caution: If accidental burning of RF-FKM occurs, extreme caution should be taken due to Hydrogen Fluoride and other decomposition products. Avoid inhalation of vapors liberated at service temperatures above 400F.
